French resources with Aboriginal content: There are interactive maps of BC First Nations languages here and tons of other resources that would fit very well with the Core French curricular competencies and big ideas related to the connections between First Peoples and Francophone communities.

Primary and Intermediate Science, Big Ideas: This is an amazingly comprehensive and detailed look at lesson, unit, and year-long planning for primary and intermediate Science in French and English that incorporates the Core Competencies, Big Ideas, and First Peoples’ Principles of Learning.
First, click on a big idea for your grade level. Then, select “Teacher Resources (French).” Look over the links here but MAKE SURE to click on the “Guide d’apprentissage” link at the top of each page.

Self-Assessment Sorting Activity for Core Competencies: Select the Core Competency you wish to have students self-assess/reflect on and then have them cut and paste the “I” statements (“les énoncés au “je””) into the appropriate column.
Self-Assessment Sorting Activity Using Book Creator (epub file): Open in book creator on your iPad and adapt for whichever Core competency and range of “je” statements work best for you. The triangle in the middle is meant as a space where students can explain why they identify statements as an “effort” (something they have to work at still) or a “force” (something that is a strength for them). Students could paste photos or text into that triangle.
