Cowichan Valley Performing Arts Foundation Donation

The Cowichan Valley Performing Arts Foundation is coming through for valley students with a $24,400 donation for a musical instrument library.

Last Friday the Cowichan Valley Performing Arts Foundation presented the Cowichan Valley School District with a $24,400 donation for a musical instrument library.

Gregg Perry, chair of the Cowichan Valley Performing Arts Foundation presented the cheque to Candace Spilsbury, Chair of the Board of Education for the Cowichan Valley School District.

“This incredible donation will make such a profound difference in music programs throughout the district,” said Ms. Spilsbury. “Having this initiative come from the community shows what a powerful, and tight-knit, group of supporters our district, and our performing arts in particular, have together.”

“We acknowledge the support of the BC summer games legacy and 100 Men Cowichan as well as our individual donors who made this gift possible. It is the performing arts that has entertained us through the pandemic, through music and film. Helping every child to have some experience in the arts enriches their lives and our world,” offered Gregg Perry, President of the Cowichan Valley Performing Arts Foundation.

In addition to the cash donation, 40 electronic tuners were also donated. These tuners will be put to good use in music classes throughout the district.
