A tea and open house to celebrate Duncan Elementary School’s 100th anniversary is being held on Saturday, April 5, 2014.  Drop in between 1:30 and 4:30pm at the school located at 1033 Nagle Street, Duncan to view displays and to share memories.  Words of welcome will be at 2:00pm followed by opening of a time capsule from the 1988 75th anniversary, and a cake cutting. Refreshments and viewing of exhibits will continue until 4:30pm.
The main displays will be in three rooms representing the years 1913-1963, 1963-1988, and 1988-2013. Â Other displays will include a centennial wall of memories of Duncan Elementary and a vintage 1922 fire truck from the Duncan Fire Department.
The public are encouraged to send in their favourite memories of Duncan Elementary either to the Facebook site – Duncan Elementary 100th Anniversary, by email to duncan100@sd79.bc.ca or in person at the celebration.
