Internal CUPE Postings

Posting are live on Wednesdays (by approximately 4 pm) and may be revised up to 9 am the next day. Postings close at 10 am the following Wednesday and start the following Monday (unless otherwise stated). Please review the appropriate job description(s) and qualifications before you apply.

Teachers Teaching On Call (TTOC)

Cowichan Valley School District accepts applications for Teachers Teaching on Call (TTOC) year round. TTOCs are added to the list when there is a shortage in a specific subject area. Applications are kept on file for 1 year.

To apply please submit all documents electronically (in one pdf file) by email to the Human Resources Administrative Assistant at apply@sd79.bc.ca:

  • Cowichan Valley School District TTOC Application Form
  • Current resume
  • Evaluation / Practicum reports
  • Transcripts – copies are acceptable
  • Copy of TQS Card & BC Teaching Certificate

Applicants do not need to be on our TTOC list to apply to teacher postings. Teacher postings are posted on our website weekly. Please follow submission guidelines on the bottom of the posting to apply.

When filling vacancies, the successful applicant will be chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Certification and qualifications (suitability of major and minor subject fields, program concentration and subsequent training);
  • Pertinent experience;
  • Seniority, District-wide;
  • Quality of teaching performance as reflected in evaluation reports of Principals/Vice Principals and Superintendents, and written references from supervisors and others which may be presented by the applicant at their option;
  • District objectives, school philosophy if applicable, curriculum and program needs.

Where two or more applicants are equal in the opinion of the Superintendent after their assessment of the above criteria, qualified internal applicants will be given priority over external applicants.

  • Certification and qualifications
  • Pertinent experience
  • Additional training and certification
  • Brief description of why you would be an ideal candidate for this position (applicants may wish to refer to the school specific Framework for Enhancing Student Learning – FESL)
  • Professional references
  • Resume and transcripts must be attached
