COWICHAN VALLEY BOARD OF EDUCATION ANNOUNCES
NEW SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Cowichan Valley, BC – The Cowichan Valley Board of Education is pleased to announce that Tim Davie has been selected to fill the position of Superintendent of Schools/Chief Executive Officer effective January 13, 2025.

Tim is currently the Superintendent of Schools/Chief Executive Officer for Pacific Rim School District, a role he has held since 2022. Prior to Pacific Rim, Tim was with the Nanaimo/Ladysmith School District for 17 years. He holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Victoria.

“We are excited to welcome Tim to the Cowichan Valley School District,” said Cathy Schmidt, Board Chair, Cowichan Valley School District. “Tim’s previous experience in community engagement, strategic operations and educational leadership will benefit our learners and staff. We look forward to Tim continuing the great work of the Cowichan Valley School District as we roll out Our Story is Beyond Education Strategic Plan 2025-2030, and to working with him to increase opportunities for our priority learners, and support our staff in their work.

Tim’s previous roles include Vice-Principal, Elementary Principal, District Vice-Principal of Learning Alternatives, District Principal of Learning Alternatives, Secondary Principal, Assistant Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent.

“I’m honored to join this incredible school district and am excited to work alongside our dedicated educators, staff, and community to inspire excellence and ensure success for every student. Having ancestral roots to the Haida Nation and Old Masset Village Council, I have a deep sense of commitment to embracing Indigenous culture and ways of knowing and being in our daily lives and the lives of the entire school community.”

The Cowichan Valley School District expresses gratitude to Interim Superintendent Jeff Rowan and District staff for their dedicated work during the search and recruitment process to select a new Superintendent of Schools/Chief Executive Officer.
