The Government of Canada recently created a new Federal Statutory holiday on September 30. The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day for all Canadians to reflect and learn about the trauma experienced by Indigenous people and communities through the country as a result of the Residential School System. The District will be honouring this holiday and all schools and worksites will be closed that day.
