Physical Resources

The Orange Shirt Story by Phyllis Webstad tells about the author’s experience in Residential School. It is suitable for grades 3-7 and up.

Phyllis’s Orange Shirt is the story rewritten for primary students.

The SD79 Indigenous Education Department has kindly ordered a copy of these books for all schools. Additionally, the DLC has a few copies.

Access the DLC’s online catalogue and search “reconciliation” to find out what other resources you might use in the classroom.
